Imagine being inadvertently left behind for 2 weeks in November, all alone in an unheated apartment on the south side of Chicago. When CLEAR arrived to save Shanks on the day after Thanksgiving, he was ice cold to the touch. One of these pictures shows him on his freedom ride, a beam of light shining on his adorable face through the darkness of Lower Wacker Drive as he sits in volunteer Kyle's arms. We got him home, gave him a warm soak to help rehydrate him, and a safe place to decompress. What impresses us most about Shanks is his absolute PUPPY attitude- he's sweet, he's inquisitive, and he's not afraid of people after humanity let him down.
Normal type ball pythons are one of our most difficult reptiles to place-;the mentality is, there's nothing flashy or exciting about them- but Shanks' personality shines through. He may not be fancy, but he eats well, loves snuggles, and is well along the road to recovery. Do you have room in your heart and home for Shanks?
