Imagine being inadvertently left behind for 2 weeks in November, all alone in an unheated apartment on the south side of Chicago. When CLEAR arrived to save Shanks on the day after Thanksgiving, he was ice cold to the touch. One of these pictures shows him on his freedom ride, a beam of light shining on his adorable face through the darkness of Lower Wacker Drive as he sits in volunteer Kyle's arms.
